Birgunj. Birgunj Customs Office has collected rs 18.39 billion revenue in the first month of the current fiscal year.
The revenue was collected after the merger of Birgunj Customs Office and Dry Port Customs Office into one office. Both the offices have been providing services by merging with each other since July 15. According to the office, 87.68 percent of the monthly revenue has been collected for the month of July of the current fiscal year.
The Customs Department had set a target of collecting Rs 20.98 billion revenue in the month of July. Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs, Deepak Lamichhane, said that the office collected Rs 15.92 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year.
The department has set a target of collecting Rs 273.39 billion annually for the office.
