Chitwan. The Inland Revenue Office has started informing new taxpayers about income tax, excise duty and value added tax (VAT). The office has started imparting education to taxpayers registered with the office after the beginning of the current fiscal year.
Office chief Punya Bikram Khadka said that the government has started educating taxpayers about the provisions made in the Finance Act 2082 BS. Businessmen have been informed about income tax, excise duty and value added tax. He said, “We have taught about the use of bills and the operation of tax-related portals. ’
A total of 2,325 businesses were registered in the office in the last fiscal year and 357 in the first month of the current fiscal year. In the first month of the current fiscal year, revenue of Rs 1,533,911 has been collected. In the last fiscal year, rs 25.09 billion was collected.
