Bhadrapur. Mechi Customs Office has collected Rs 1.26 billion in revenue in the first month of the current fiscal year. This is an increase of 7.74 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.
According to Ishwor Kumar Humagain, information officer at mechi customs office, rs 1.17 billion revenue was collected in the last fiscal year.
“Imports from Mechi customs have decreased by 4.90 percent and exports by 14.68 percent in the same month of the current fiscal year as compared to the same month of the last fiscal year. Although imports and exports have decreased, the revenue has increased by 6.87 percent from imports and 80.14 percent from exports,” he said.
Petroleum products, transport vehicles and their parts, mineral products, footwear and cosmetics are imported from Kakarbhitta border point. Tea, cardamom, amriso, ginger and other products are exported from here.
