Kathmandu. Police have arrested a man for allegedly duping eight people of Rs 4.3 million on the pretext of sending them to the UK for foreign employment.
The arrestees have been identified as Basanta Karki, 29, a resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City-14 in Kaski and currently residing in Mahalaxmi Municipality-2 in Lalitpur, said Information Officer at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and Superintendent of Police Kazi Kumar Acharya. “Karki was arrested from Baneshwor on the basis of a complaint that he duped eight people of Rs 4.3 million on the pretext of sending them to the UK,” he said. ’
Nij Karki, who is also the director of Education Search Nepal based in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, has been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal for further investigation and action.
