Kathmandu. At present, the monsoon trough is located around the southern part of the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is an influence of water vapor-rich air from the Bay of Bengal.

According to the Division, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly region including Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudur Pashchim provinces and at a few places of the Tarai region of other provinces. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly regions of Bagmati and Karnali provinces. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm in the Tarai region of Koshi and Lumbini provinces including Madhes.

Similarly, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly regions of the country including Madhes and Koshi provinces tonight and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of the rest of the hilly regions including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of the rest of the Tarai region. According to the Division, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the hilly region of Gandaki Province.
