Drinking water testing team deployed in cholera affected areas of Parsa

Kathmandu. A team has been mobilized for water testing in cholera affected areas of Birgunj of Parsa.

Director General of the Department of Drinking Water and Sewerage Management E Ram Kumar Shrestha informed that a mobile van team has been deployed with necessary materials. “Following the instructions of the Minister, we have sent a technical team with necessary materials from the department to the affected areas,” he said. The team has already started water testing and public awareness work. On Friday, three people were confirmed infected with cholera in Birgunj.

Government is sensitive to cholera control

Similarly, Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav also visited the cholera-affected areas and inquired about the situation there, according to his secretariat. In the meantime, he said that the government is sensitive to control cholera. After reaching various hospitals in Birgunj, Minister Yadav said, “We are working in coordination with the Ministry of Health, local levels and other concerned bodies to control cholera. The government is very serious about this. ’

Minister Yadav shared that the Ministry is taking special initiatives to ensure the supply of pure drinking water in cholera affected areas.

He also inspected the cholera-affected areas of Birgunj Metropolitan City and enquired about the condition of infected patients undergoing treatment at Narayani Hospital, Tarai Hospital, Birgunj Health Care and other hospitals.
