Makawanpur withdraws budget towards conditional grant of local level

Bagmati. Makawanpur: The local levels of Makawanpur have returned Rs 322.2 million that they could not spend on conditional grants in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.

According to the Fund and Accounts Control Office, all the 10 local levels of the district have returned the amount which could not be spent in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. In the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, Rs 2.94 billion was paid as conditional grant, Rs 1.12 billion as financial equalization grant, Rs 55.7 million as supplementary grant and Rs 35 million as special grant, according to Dinesh Regmi, chief of the Fund and Accounts Control Office of Hetauda.

Regmi said that the budget towards conditional grant has been withdrawn due to various reasons such as the failure of the local levels to carry out the program on time and the failure to make the plan successful on time.

Similarly, the Bagmati province government has returned Rs 420 million that it could not spend in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, regmi said. According to Regmi, rs 11.96 billion was paid to the Bagmati state government in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS but only Rs 11.47 billion could be spent.
