Vice Presidents of Nepal, Vietnam hold meeting to discuss promotion of religious, cultural tourism

Kathmandu. Vice President Ram Sahai Prasad Yadav and Vice President of Vietnam, Bho Thi An Xuan, who is on a three-day official visit to Nepal, held a delegation-level meeting today.

During the meeting held here today, they discussed the religious similarities between the two countries and the immense possibilities of religious and cultural tourism. Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prakash Adhikari, shared that the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Relations between the two countries are based on friendship, goodwill and respect for sovereignty and they discussed ways to move forward with a common vision in international fora. The two vice presidents have also agreed to exchange visits at the ministry level and at different levels. On the occasion, the two sides discussed ways to expand the flight relations between the two countries, said Joint Secretary Adhikari.

Joint Secretary Adhikari said that they discussed the possibilities of investment and learning from Vietnam as it is a country with high economic growth rate. They discussed bilateral trade, investment, digital technology, among other issues, and ways to advance people-to-people ties.

This is the first high-level visit from Vietnam. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam.

Vice-President Vu Thi An Xuan arrived here on Saturday on an official visit to Nepal at the friendly invitation of Vice President Yadav. Vice-President Xuan is scheduled to return home on August 10 after concluding his visit.
