Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has appealed to the Supreme Court saying it was not satisfied with the verdict of the special court in the corruption case filed by the Security Printing Center while printing excise stickers.

The Commission had accused 12 defendants, including dr Baikuntha Aryal, the then secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, of committing corruption-related offences by causing damage to public property. The Commission had filed a case claiming rs 386.71 million.

The special court had delivered its verdict in the case on November 15, 2018. In this, some defendants were partially convicted and some defendants were acquitted. The Commission filed a case with the Supreme Court on Sunday, saying it was not satisfied with the verdict, said NHRC Assistant Spokesperson Ganesh Bahadur Adhikari.
