Kathmandu. More than 6,500 private vehicles were involved in road accidents in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS. According to Nepal Police, a total of 1,777 four-wheelers were involved in road accidents in the last fiscal year.

Electric vehicles (EVs) account for about 23 per cent of the total accidents in a year.

According to the police, 1,543 EVs have been involved in road accidents in the last one year. In the last fiscal year, the highest number of road accidents took place in the Valley. A total of 2,956 road accidents took place in the Valley in the last fiscal year.

Kathmandu: Three drivers were killed and 88 others injured in a road accident in the Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu: Six persons were killed and 117 others injured in road accidents in the Kathmandu Valley. Similarly, 21 pedestrians were killed and 190 were injured in the accident.

According to the police, 340 EV vehicles were involved in road accidents in the Valley in the last fiscal year alone. At least 11 eVs have met with accidents in the Kathmandu Valley after a truck collided head-on. Similarly, 27 buses collided with microbuses and 46 EVs were involved in accidents.

During this period, 152 jeeps and cars met with accidents in the Valley alone. According to the police, 15 tempo accidents and 89 motorcycle accidents took place during the period. Kathmandu: Two persons were killed in EV road accidents in the Kathmandu Valley in the last fiscal year. 142 people were injured. A total of 118 people have been killed in EV accidents in the Valley.

Madhes province has the second highest number of road accidents. A total of 1,169 road accidents have taken place in Madhes province in the last one year. At least 35 people were killed and 28 pedestrians were killed.

A total of 22 drivers were killed in the accident in Madhes province. A total of 128 drivers were injured in the accident. Similarly, 255 pedestrians were injured. A total of 614 EVs have met with accidents in Madhes province. A total of 103 people were seriously injured in the EV accident. At least 28 people were killed in the accident. A total of 693 cattle have been displaced.

According to police, 948 road accidents were reported in Koshi province in the last fiscal year. Three drivers were killed and 120 injured in the accident. At least 36 passengers were killed and 469 others injured in the accident. At least 17 pedestrians were killed and 119 others injured in a road accident in Koshi province. There are only 693 EV accidents in the region. At least 20 people were killed in an EV accident in Koshi province. A total of 46 people were seriously injured and 1,211 received minor injuries.

Similarly, 606 road accidents took place in Lumbini province in the last fiscal year. Eighteen drivers were killed and 94 others injured in the accident. At least 34 passengers were killed and 285 others injured in the accident. At least 18 pedestrians were killed and 82 others injured in a road accident in Lumbini area. A total of 188 eV accidents have taken place in the region in the last one year. Six people have lost their lives, 21 have been seriously injured and 126 have sustained minor injuries.

According to police, 512 road accidents have taken place in Bagmati province except Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. Twelve drivers were killed and 94 others injured in the accident. At least 30 passengers were killed and 430 injured in the accident. According to the police report, 13 pedestrians were killed and 83 pedestrians were injured in Bagmati Province.

Similarly, 289 road accidents took place in Karnali State. In which 16 drivers were killed and 77 were injured. At least 39 passengers were killed and 360 injured in the accident. Eight pedestrians have been killed and 29 injured in the region in the past one year. Karnali Province 14 EV vehicle has met with an accident. A total of 172 sawari accidents have taken place in far-western province. Six drivers were killed and 23 injured in road accidents in the far west last fiscal year. In the last one year, 16 passengers have died and 125 passengers have been injured in accidents.

Ten pedestrians have been killed and 21 injured in the region in the past year. There have been 47 EV accidents in the region. Seven people were killed and 15 others were seriously injured in the accident. In the far west, 41 people suffered minor injuries, police said.
