Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to field Ishwori Devi Neupane as its candidate for the vacant post of president of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s top leaders chaired by party President Sher Bahadur Deuba today, party general secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma told RSS. Vice-presidents Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhanraj Gurung and general secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Sharma were present in the meeting.

The election for the new president is scheduled to be held on August 15. According to the Parliament Secretariat, the nomination of candidates is scheduled from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm today. The post was lying vacant after Nc lawmaker Ramhari Khatiwada resigned from the post.
