More than 6,000 cattle vaccinated against lumpy skin in Chitwan

Chitwan. A total of 6,666 cattle in the district have been vaccinated against lumpy skin. The vaccination drive was started after the animals here were found to be lumpy.

Information Officer at the Animal Service Office, Dr Sabina Mishra, said that 2,733 animals of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, 1,190 of Ratnanagar Municipality and 1,614 of Khairhani Municipality have been vaccinated.

Similarly, 355 livestock of Kalika municipality and 774 animals of Ichchhakamana rural municipality have been vaccinated. According to the office, 12,100 vaccine doses have already been distributed in the current fiscal year before the campaign.

According to Information Officer Mishra, animals that have been infected with the disease and have been infected in the shed have not been vaccinated. So far, 1,116 cattle have been diagnosed with the disease in the district in the current fiscal year. So far, 45 cattle have died.
