Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has signed an agreement with a Bangladeshi company selected to test the asset quality of 10 big commercial banks.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has signed an agreement with Hauladar Yunus and Company, Chartered Accountant of Bangladesh to check the asset quality of 10 banks.
Rastra Bank has selected the company on the basis of technical and financial proposal evaluation as per Section 38 (2) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063 BS.
Roshan Kumar Sigdel, executive director of the Property and Service Management Department of The Rastra Bank, said that the company will test the quality by the end of December 2025.
An agreement has been signed with the company for rs 43.74 million to test the asset quality of commercial banks. The company will test the asset quality of all the merged and acquired banks and NIC Asia, NMB and Rastriya Banijya Bank.
The government is going to conduct a full audit of 10 commercial banks as per the conditions laid down by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) while taking extended loans.
