Flood inundates 45 houses in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur. At least 45 houses have been inundated in Kanchanpur due to incessant rain since Sunday night.  According to police, 45 houses have been inundated after the rivers of Bhimdutta municipality and Dodhara Chandani municipality entered the settlement. Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, said that 25 houses have been inundated due to the flood of Jogbudha river in Rampure Tole and Jarga Tole of Dodhara Chandani Municipality-8.

Similarly, 15 houses of Patarakhalla of Dodhara Chandani Municipality-3 have been submerged. According to him, five houses have been submerged in Bhujela of Bhimdutta municipality-11. “As many as 70 people have been displaced after 25 houses were inundated after the Jodbudha river entered the settlement at Dodhara Chandani and they have been kept in a nearby school. “The flooded families and cattle have been shifted to safer places,” he said. ’

According to him, 55 family members of Dodhara Chandani Municipality-3, Patarakhalla, their belongings and livestock have also been kept at the nearby Jamuna Basic School.

Increased water level in Mahakali

The water level of mahakali river has increased after incessant rain. The Indian side has banned the movement of four-wheelers and three-wheelers on the Sharda Barrage due to rising water level. Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, said the water level in the river has risen to 140,250 cusecs. The Indian side has been restricting the movement of water in the river after 100,000 cusecs.
