Kathmandu. Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Bhagwati Neupane has clarified that the proposal made by her earlier regarding the age limit of civil servants was not in anyone’s personal interest.

In today’s meeting of the Legislative Management Committee of the National Assembly, she clarified that the proposal put forward by her during the discussion was not focused on the interests of any one employee.

“There was a lot of discussion on the retirement age limit, everyone put forth their arguments. I also put forward my views and proposals on behalf of the government. But I did not have my own personal interest,” said Minister Neupane, adding, “I am determined not to do anything unfair in the name of fulfilling anyone’s interests.” ’

Stating that he believed that there should be cordial relations between the government and the employees, Minister Neupane clarified that the proposal regarding the retirement age limit was made with the intention of raising the morale of the employees and no one’s personal interests worked.

“We had a lot of discussions and arguments, all the honorable people put what they thought in the course of the discussion. Minister Neupane said, “We became flexible on behalf of the government by understanding some things and understanding the feelings of the government.” ’

Stating that she had already committed that the Federal Civil Service Bill would be promulgated in this session, Minister Neupane said it would be easier to implement administrative federalism after the bill was promulgated. Stating that the committee has a tradition of unanimously making every proposal unanimous and this time too, there has been an initiative to finalize every proposal unanimously, she said that she was not in favor of finalizing the proposal with majority and minority in the proposal.

“I am not in favour of dividing votes. Let’s go as the House of Representatives has passed and sent it,” said Minister Neupane. Let’s pass this bill today. ’
