Acting PRIME Minister Singh meets World Bank Regional Vice President Jut

Kathmandu. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh and World Bank’s Vice President for South Asia Johannes Jutt held a meeting today. During the meeting held at the Ministry of Urban Development today, the World Bank and the Ministry discussed cooperation on new projects.

Discussions were held on greater Lumbini Area Development Project and construction of urban physical infrastructure, waste management and river sanitation in Kathmandu. On the occasion, Vice-Chair Jut said that it was good for the Ministry to move ahead with the plan focusing on two places and said that the World Bank was positive for cooperation.

He said the World Bank would support Lumbini, Kathmandu Valley’s urban infrastructure, environmental pollution reduction and river and air hygiene. The meeting is expected to further strengthen the partnership between the Government of Nepal and the World Bank.

Acting Prime Minister Singh thanked the Ministry of Urban Development for its cooperation with the World Bank and expressed the belief that there would be more cooperation in the new schemes.
