PM Modi inaugurates Semicon India 2025, strengthens India’s semiconductor journey

New Delhi. New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Semicon India 2025 at Yashobhoomi (India International Conference and Expo Centre) in New Delhi.

“The day is not far when the world will say – designed in India, made in India, trusted by the world. He called the semiconductor a “digital diamond” and highlighted its importance.

More than 20,000 participants, representatives from 48 countries, more than 50 global CXOs and 1,275 booths were present at the country’s largest semiconductor and electronics show. Prime Minister Modi stressed that India’s innovation and youth power are clearly present in the industry.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “On September 2, the first Made-in-India chip was presented to the Prime Minister. More pilot lines are expected to be completed in the next few months. 20 chips designed by the students were also on display. ’

“The Indian semiconductor industry is experiencing rapid growth in line with the prime minister’s vision,” SAID Ajit Manocha, president, SEMI. With advances in AI and technology, we are gaining global recognition. ’

Announcing the signing of 12 MoUs, SEMI India and IESA President Ashok Chandak said the government’s commitment to make India a global hub of semiconductor design, manufacturing and technology development was clear.

Semicon India 2025 has brought together 1,275 booths and more than 20,000 participants with representatives of 48 countries.

The event provides an opportunity for industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, start-ups and academics to discuss the latest trends, opportunities and challenges in the semiconductor sector, promote global cooperation and support indigenous innovation.

Major companies from the world including Applied Materials, ASML, IBM, Infinion, KLA, Lam Research, Merck, Micron, PSMC, Rapids, Sandisc, Siemens, SK Hynix, Tata Electronics, Tokyo Electrons participated in the event.

Prime Minister Modi’s inauguration sends an important message to india’s semiconductor industry to strengthen innovation, credibility and competitiveness to the world.
