Russia’s new vehicle sales fall 25%

Kathmandu. According to russia’s ministry of industry and trade, the sales of new vehicles in the country declined by 25 percent between January and August 2025.

According to the Ministry, a total of 877,600 new vehicles were sold during the period, including passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, large freight vehicles and large passenger vehicles. Sales of new vehicles manufactured in the country have fallen by 6 percent to 483,000.

In particular, the sales of passenger vehicles declined by 23 percent to 768,200. Similarly, sales of light commercial vehicles declined by 21 percent to Rs 66,400.

Sales of freight vehicles dropped further to 35,960, down 56 per cent. Sales of large passenger vehicles also dropped 49 percent to 7,000.

In August alone, sales of new vehicles declined by 21 percent to 135,500 compared to the same month last year. However, sales have increased by one percent compared to the previous month, the ministry said.
