Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has urged people not to use unsafe, unauthorized risky VPNs. It has urged the government to cooperate in implementing the government’s decision to organize social media.
Issuing a press release on Sunday, the Ministry has appealed to the general public and all concerned to cooperate in the implementation of the decision taken by the Government of Nepal to create an environment in which any social media platforms used by the general public can be used in an orderly, dignified and accountable manner through self-regulation.
The Ministry has urged not to use unsafe, unauthorized, risky VPNs. Stating that the government has repeatedly called for the listing of social media platforms operating in Nepal in order to make the use of social media operating in Nepal systematic and accountable, the Ministry said that the process of deactivating and listing the social media platforms operating in Nepal has started from the same moment if they are deactivated and listed in accordance with the Supreme Court order and the decision of the Council of Ministers on August 15.
