This year’s first lunar eclipse was observed for three and a half hours

Kathmandu. A total lunar eclipse is taking place on Sunday night on the full moon day of Bhadra Shukla. According to The Nepal Panchang Judging Development Committee, the eclipse touched at 10:11 pm on Sunday. The eclipse ended at 11.56 pm at 1:41 pm.

Committee chair Prof Shambhu Prasad Dhakal said that the lunar eclipse was seen from Kathmandu for three and a half hours. In Nepal, the lunar eclipse touched between the east and southeast at 10:11 am and ended at 1:41 pm from the southwest and the west, he said. A lunar eclipse is the condition in which the entire moon is covered when the Earth completely blocks the Sun. A lunar eclipse is when the earth, the sun and the moon are in the same formula, the shadow of the earth falls on the moon.

This eclipse is the first eclipse seen from Nepal in 2082 BS. According to the committee, a partial lunar eclipse will also take place on falgun shukla purnima this year. The lunar eclipse occurs on the full moon and the solar eclipse on the aunshi tithi.
