Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army (NA) has arrested 27 people with Rs 3.37 million in cash and some weapons that they had looted during the Genji agitation.
According to the NA, the Nepal Army and other security agencies have been deployed across the country since 10:00 pm on September 10. The Nepal Army has arrested 27 people on the charge of looting, arson and destruction of property in different parts of the country including Kathmandu till 10:00 am on September 10.
Police have confiscated Rs 33.70 lakh from people involved in looting from Gaushala-Chabahil-Bouddha area in Kathmandu. Police also confiscated 23 barrels of arms, magazines and ammunition from Pokhara and 23 from different places of Kathmandu.
So far, 23 injured Nepal Police personnel and three civilians have been treated at military hospitals. Similarly, 3 fire engines are being used to control the fire.
