Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said that he was closely monitoring the situation in Nepal and called for peaceful demonstrations.
“I am sorry for those who lost their lives during the protests,” he said in a series of social media outlets.
Guterres called for a deeper investigation into the issue, for restraint to prevent further escalation of violence and for dialogue to find a constructive path. He also called for compliance with human rights laws.
