Flood damages physical infrastructure in Lete Khola

Myagdi. A restaurant was buried by the flood in Lete rivulet at Singa Tatopani of Beni municipality-4 this morning. Two houses, a community building and a temple have been damaged by the floods.

Ward Chairman of Beni-4, Ana Bahadur Khadka, informed that the flood has completely buried the Shrees Hotel operated by Prem Shrish. According to him, the flood has entered the houses of locals Man Kumari Karki and Sobita Karki.

Floods have entered the Tatopani Agriculture Cooperative and the Bhagwati Temple. The floods have obstructed the Beni-Darwang road section linking Mangala, Malika and Dhaulagiri rural municipalities with the district headquarters Beni.

Locals inside the house escaped to save their lives after the floods. Now, people’s representatives, security personnel and locals are working to control the flood with the help of dozers. Beni municipality and Infrastructure Development Office have mobilized two bulldozers.

Locals have donated voluntary labour to remove the flood inside the community buildings and temples. A total of 130 gabion nets have been installed. The flood also buried the gabion mesh that was taken there on Wednesday evening for the embankment.
