Jenji agitation: Billions of rupees damaged on personal and business property, calls for uninterrupted business environment

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has condemned the incidents of vandalism of personal and business property in the name of Genji movement.

The federation has also drawn the attention of the stakeholders to ensure that business and personal property would not be attacked in the coming days. The Federation has said that billions of rupees worth of damage has been incurred in the industries and business establishments across the country and the Federation is collecting more details about it.

“It is estimated that such losses will have a serious impact on revenue and GDP,” the statement said. In the latest developments, several industries, establishments, offices and residences have been vandalized and torched.

The FNJ is ready to coordinate and cooperate in maintaining good governance by ending confusion for the country’s prosperity. “As the private sector is the main source of the budget required for the reconstruction and reconstruction in the coming days, the FNCCI urges the government to make necessary arrangements for peace and security for the unhindered operation of enterprises and businesses,” the statement reads. The federation represents about 6 lakh small, medium and large industrialists across the country through district, municipal, commodity, associate and other membership. ’

It has urged the government to provide security to the general public and entrepreneurs to ensure that they can carry out business without any hindrance.

The federation has also urged the government to facilitate the movement of essential services and professionals and goods such as medicines, foodgrains, milk, water, fruits, vegetables, petroleum products, etc. even during the time of prohibitory orders and employees. The FNCCI has urged the participation of representatives of FNJ and FNCCI members and chambers of commerce and industry in the security committee to be held at the central, provincial and district levels.

It also appeals to all the entrepreneurs and businessmen across the country to ensure regular supply of quality goods and not to create shortage in the market. It has also urged the concerned provincial, district, town and commodity associations to monitor the same.
