Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: China has extended hearty congratulations to Sushila Karki for being appointed as the Prime Minister of the interim government of Nepal. It also pledged to work together to further strengthen mutual relations.

China congratulated the Chinese Prime Minister in his response to journalists’ queries on his swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister of Nepal on Friday.

Noting that China and Nepal have long-standing friendly relations, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that as always, China respects the development path chosen by the Nepali people independently.

“We are ready to work with Nepal to promote the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, increase exchanges and cooperation in different fields and further enhance bilateral relations,” the statement said.
