Nepal Telecom requests to return stolen recharge cards worth Rs 71 lakh

Kathmandu. Around 70,000 cards of Rs 100 and Rs 500 were stolen when the building of the State Directorate of Nepal Telecommunication Company at Mahendrapul of Gandaki Province was vandalized and set on fire.

A total of Rs 71 lakh can be recharged from these cards. Nepal Telecom, issuing an emergency notice on Sunday, urged all the consumers not to use such cards. The class numbers of these cards have also been made public.

The notice reads, “All the cards within the category number are requested not to be used as it has been stolen.” Used cards can cause problems in the service. Also, if such cards are found, they have been urged to submit them to the nearest telecommunications office or police office.

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has warned that consumers may face loss if stolen cards are sold, distributed and used. For more information, contact number 061-5802080 of Pokhara Provincial Directorate can be contacted.
