Sankhuwasabha Water supply has been disrupted in the district headquarters Khandbari. The supply was halted after the landslide buried the source of drinking water on Sunday night.

Around one thousand families of Khandbari Bazaar were benefited from the project. The landslide swept away water pipes at Mahabhir of Khandbari municipality-4 obstructed the water supply in Khandbari, shared Chairperson of the Drinking Water and Consumers Association, Dibyaraj Baral.

Earlier, on August 5, the landslide had buried the intake of the source. The supply of drinking water was halted for about a week.

Baral said that the water supply would be distributed from a tank in reserve at the army camp in Khandbari-7 for the time being. Teams have been mobilized for the repair work from today itself and drinking water supply will be restored soon, he added. Locals have been dependent on old wells after the supply of drinking water was cut off.
