Kathmandu. Ncell on Monday filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Kathmandu, alleging that various criminal groups had vandalized, arson, and robbery at Ncell Icon at Lainchaur, Kathmandu on September 11, 2082.
The complaint calls for the arrest of the culprits involved in these incidents, necessary investigations and bringing them under the ambit of the law and making them liable to the maximum punishment and getting back the goods taken from them as well as compensation for the property damaged by the arson.
In the name of agitation, the criminals formed a group and threatened to burn the security personnel deployed for the security of the company, locked them in a room and vandalized and set the building on fire, broke the glass panes of the front of the building, entered the office on the ground floor of the company’s customer service center and reception and set fire to the office equipment, entered every floor of the building and vandalized every equipment used in the office. According to the complaint, the company had looted original certificates, licenses, land ownership certificates and other important documents of the office, arson or robbery, cash and company safes were also looted.
The authorities have looted all the valuables from all the floors of Ncell’s office, including computers, televisions, printers, refrigerators, ovens, coffee vendor machines and other office appliances, looted laptops and other personal items and jewelry distributed to the staff, took out the TV, monitors and fitness items from the second floor of the meeting hall, set some equipment on fire and most of the equipments were taken away by robbery. According to the complaint, the company has taken the keys of the vehicles taken on its own and rented from third parties, brought them to the courtyard of the building and burnt some vehicles outside the compound of the building, set them on fire and completely destroyed them.
According to the complaint lodged with the police, the company has provided the details of the damage and a list of the looted property to the police. All the CCTV footage captured during the incident has also been handed over to the police to assist in the investigation. The complaint also stated that further details would be provided in course of the investigation as the assessment work is underway to ascertain the actual damage caused to the company’s property due to vandalism, arson and robbery.
