Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Tatopani transit point of Sindhupalchowk and Kerung of Rasuwa — which are used for foreign trade with China — have not been reopened.
According to Kishor Bartaula, information officer at the Department of Customs, the export and import of goods has started from Monday. “Import and export from Tatopani and Rasuwagadhi customs office, which were damaged by floods and landslides, have not been able to take place. KATHMANDU: The Korala border point has been opened for trade with China since Monday. Regular inspection has already started from there,” Bartaula told RSS.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) today issued a circular to banks and financial institutions (BFIs) directing them to make arrangements for opening Letter of Credit (LC) for the import of goods through this border point.
Executive Director Rewati Prasad Nepal said the NRB has amended the Integrated Circular-2081 BS to allow the import through Mustang customs point while importing goods through Chinese territory through the Mustang customs point via truck or railway.
Prior to this, banks and financial institutions were allowed to open letter of credit to import goods only through Tatopani Customs and Rasuwa Customs Office.
