Kathmandu. The government has declared a public holiday across the country today as a mark of national mourning for those who lost their lives during the Genji protests.
According to Home Ministry spokesperson Ananda Kafle, the government has declared a public holiday on September 15 as per the decision of the Council of Ministers on September 15.
“The Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) has decided to declare a public holiday on September 15 at all government offices, Nepali embassies and missions across Nepal and fly the national flag at half-mast as a mark of national mourning as a mark of respect to the people who lost their lives during the protests organised by the Genji generation on September 7 and 24,” the statement reads. ’
