Bagmati. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Bagmati Province is preparing to operate from the newly constructed building of Urban Development and Building Office in Hetauda.
Preparations have been made to operate from the Jenji building after arson damaged the ministry’s building during the demonstration. “Most of the buildings except some rooms of the ministry have been gutted in the fire, so we are preparing to use a new building of the Urban Development for the operation of the ministry,” said Basudev Dahal, information officer at the Ministry. ‘
The agitators had also vandalized the newly constructed building and the office would be managed after repairing. According to the ministry, some furniture and documents of the ministry that were saved from the fire have been shifted and new equipment has been brought in to manage the necessary room for the staff.
Four ministries including the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure of Bagmati Province were torched in a single building at Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Chaukitol.
It is estimated that the fire has caused damages worth five and a half million rupees to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and its subordinate offices. According to him, the protesters also damaged the Infrastructure Office of Chitwan, Urban Development and Building Office Hetauda, Infrastructure Development Office Lalitpur and the State Capital Infrastructure Development Special Project Office in Hetauda.
A total of 40 vehicles including five four-wheelers and 35 motorcycles were torched in the incident.
