Kathmandu. Route permit has been opened for public vehicles carrying passengers from today. President of the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, Bijay Bahadur Swar, said that the route permit has been opened throughout the country from today to facilitate the operation of public transport across the country during the festival time.
With the opening of the route permit, public transport will now be able to go to the destination without taking the route. However, this restriction will continue for the public vehicles that are prohibited from plying on any road due to the special nature of the road.
The route permit will remain open until October 7, Swar said. According to the Federation, passengers must compulsorily buy tickets while travelling in public vehicles. The government has already decided to ban the operation of big vehicles including trailers from Narayanghat to Kathmandu till the full moon day in order to ease the movement of vehicles.
