Mugu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has completed its first flight to Rara Airport in Mugu after a gap of four months. Earlier, Nepal Airlines, owned by the government, had been operating flights to Rara Airport three days a week until last April.
The Mugalis were relieved to have a regular flight. However, tourists and other passengers coming to Rara Lake, the biggest lake of Nepal through this airport, have been facing difficulties in air travel due to the lack of flights for the past four months. Nabin Kumar Bista, chief of Nepal Airlines Rara Airport Office, informed that the NAC has resumed its flights to Rara Airport from today.
Sumitra Rawal, a passenger, who is going to Nepalgunj for treatment, said, “We would have been relieved if we had operated regular flights.” ’
Although the regular flights have not been operated due to various reasons, Bista said that he would take initiative for regular flights from his side. Summit Air, Tara Air, Sita Air and Nepal Airlines have been operating flights to and from Rara airport.
