Kavrepalanchok. The District Administration Office, Kavre, has banned the operation of goods vehicles in the district. As per the decision of the District Security Committee on September 15, the tippers have been banned in the district throughout the Dashain festival.

In a public appeal published by the office, it has been asked not to operate tippers from October 22 to October 6. In an appeal issued by Assistant Chief District Officer Sudarshan Shrestha, the tippers have been banned to ensure safety of passengers and the general public.

Shrestha said that stern action would be taken as per the law if anyone violating the Vehicle and Transport Management Act, 2049 BS by operating tippers during this period. According to him, this rule will not apply to vehicles used for essential services.

Around 2,500 tippers are ferrying and plying the three Highway in Kavrepalanchowk, Araniko, BP, Helambu and Panauti-Banepa on a daily basis. The local administration had been giving permission to the public to operate only at night for the past two years to ensure life safety, minimize road accidents and ease of movement.
