Damauli. The landslide occurred at Tuin rivulet along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section for the past few days.
Though vehicular movement has been resumed on the highway, the occurrence of landslides and road obstructions has not stopped. Regular vehicular movement on the road has been hampered due to continuous falling of boulders. Landslides have blocked the road during Dashain and killed the people.
As an alternative to the Muglin-Narayangadh road, one can use the route to Dedhgaun via Khairenitar of Tanahun. The Gandaki State government has taken this road as a pride project. The state government is constructing this road linking Mustang to Terai.
This road is suitable for small vehicles. Prakash Chandra Bhattarai, who has already used this route, said that one can reach Dedhgaun-Bulingtar-Dhodeni-Gaindakot via Bhimad-Manpur from Damauli-Khairenitar.
The distance from Muglin to Khairnitar is 70 kilometers. The Khairenitar-Bhimad road is 7 kilometers long while the Bhimad-Manpur road is 35 kilometers old. The 40-kilometer road from Manpur-Dedhgaun to Narayangadh is 70 kilometres.
Bijaya Rana, a local of Dharampani, said motorcyclists can cross the suspension bridge from Damauli via Keshavtar, Sukhaura, Huslang and Dharampani. According to him, some motorcyclists have been using this route after the Muglin road has been blocked.
