Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has said that the government will not wait for the support of the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund (PADT) to reconstruct the structures damaged by the Genji agitation. He said this at a press conference organized at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
He said that it was the responsibility of the government to reconstruct the damaged structures and the immediate reconstruction would be done from the government’s own budget. “We don’t have to wait for the reconstruction fund to come in and start rebuilding. Reconstruction will proceed with the government budget,” he said.
He also informed that the government has started reconstruction of damaged structures in Singha Darba. “Reconstruction of some police offices and government buildings has already begun,” he said.
