Kavrepalanchok. Police have arrested 10 people for their alleged involvement in looting during the ‘Genji’ protests. According to the District Police Office, police confiscated the looted arms and ammunition from them on September 24.
The arrested is Santosh Shrestha, 34, of Mandandeupur municipality-7 and currently living in Banepa municipality-9. Police recovered a pistol and 36 rounds of bullets from his possession.
Likewise, the police arrested Sijan Suwal (26), Subash Gautam (28), a 18-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy from the same ward in possession of 730 rounds of ammunition.
The arrestees have been identified as Timothy Tamang, 21, of Temal rural municipality-2, Achhoot Khadka, 34, of Panauti municipality-10, Mahesh Mukhiya, 20, of Bara and Sushant Lo, 24, of Bakaiya rural municipality-6 of Makwanpur.
Likewise, Ramesh Tamang of Dhulikhel Municipality-1 was also arrested. He is accused of looting the Area Police Office, Banepa, taking weapons and demonstrating and even making TikTok.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Komal Shah said that further investigation into the case is underway. Likewise, police arrested 37 prisoners from Kavrepalanchowk during the period.
