Finance Minister Khanal meets Japanese envoy

Kathmandu. Minister for Finance Rameshwor Prasad Khanal and Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Maeda Toru paid a courtesy call on them today. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the current situation of Nepal, historic relations between Nepal and Japan and Japanese assistance in Nepal’s socio-economic development.

On the occasion, Minister Khanal said the main task of the incumbent government formed under special circumstances was to hold the elections on the slated date and give continuity to the socio-economic development works including reconstruction.

On the occasion, discussions were held on various issues including Nagdhunga Tunnel Road Project, Tanahun Hydropower Project, Koteshwor Chowk Improvement Project, Sindhuli Road Flood Affected Emergency Rehabilitation Program, among others.

Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya and Dhaniram Sharma, joint secretary at the Foreign Cooperation Coordination Division, were also present on the occasion.
