Tens of thousands of devotees today visit the Taleju Bhawani Temple located in the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, which is opened only on the day of the Mahanawami. Kajiman Pyakurel, chief of the Hanumandhoka Durbar Care Office, said that preparations have been completed for the devotees to visit the temple by opening the temple.

Taleju Bhawani was brought to the main chowk of Hanumandhoka Durbar on Monday. It is said the goddess Taleju Bhawani would be returned to the main temple only this morning on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami.

On the night of Maha Ashtami, 54 goats and 54 buffaloes are also sacrificed in the night of Maha Ashtami. It is said that Kalratri Puja is performed on the night of Maha Ashtami with the intention of gaining strength for the operation of the state.
