Kathmandu. A total of 611,657 people have left Kathmandu in the ninth day of the Dashain festival alone.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, such a large number of passengers have left the Kathmandu Valley through different transit points since the beginning of Ghatasthapana on September 22. Likewise, in the past 24 hours, 26 more people have left the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours.
As many as 13,326 vehicles left the Valley in the last 24 hours as the number of people leaving the Kathmandu Valley has been on the sharp rise, said Spokesperson of the Traffic Police Office Naresh Raj Subedi.
“The number of people leaving the capital has increased now, vehicles entering and exiting Kathmandu are normal,” he said. The number of vehicles exiting the Kathmandu Valley since Ghatasthapana has reached 113,415. The eastern, western and far-western districts of the country are the main destinations of these vehicles.
A total of 319,015 people have entered the Kathmandu Valley from 77,545 vehicles, according to the Valley Traffic Police Office. Crowds of passengers have been seen especially at Koteshwor, Kalanki, Balkhu, New Bus Park and Jagati among other transit points.
