Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in many places of the country from 8 pm today to 8 am on Sunday.
During a discussion with the stakeholders on the condition and preparedness of the monsoon, Director General of the Department, Kamal Ram Joshi, said that we should stay alert as there is possibility of heavy rain.
Saying there are chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall especially in Bagmati, Madhes, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces during this period, Joshi urged the people living near the rivers to adopt special alertness.
“There is a possibility of more than 200 millimeters of rain in these provinces from 10 pm tonight to 2 am on Sunday, so high alert needs to be exercised,” he said. Joshi urged not to travel unnecessarily during this time. According to the Meteorological Department, there is the influence of the monsoon wind coming from the Bay of Bengal throughout the country.
