Chitwan. With the increase in the number of air passengers, a bus service has been arranged from Bharatpur Airport to Kathmandu at the initiative of the local administration. Passengers stranded at the airport were sent to Kathmandu by bus.
After the disruption of air service on Saturday, the number of passengers who had taken tickets for Saturday and the passengers who reached the airport again for today had increased the number of passengers at the airport. The number of air passengers has increased drastically after the road to Kathmandu was blocked.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Ganesh Aryal reached the airport to take stock of the situation and requested transport entrepreneurs to take the passengers from the airport. He said that a microbus has taken passengers and additional buses will be arranged to send the rest of the passengers. “We have asked the transport entrepreneurs to provide service by charging passengers as per the rules,” he said. He said that the local administration has sent the buses by issuing a letter to take the passengers who are in need.
He said that the letter has also been made to make it easier for the bus to go and return. The Narayangadh-Muglin road section is in operation. The Chitwan section of the Prithvi Raj Marg is also open. Stating that preparations were underway to resume vehicular operation after clearing the landslide in Dhading, he said small vehicles have been diverted to their destinations. On Saturday, the administration had arranged for the passengers to stay in the hotel at 75 percent discount.
