Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The National Cooperatives Federation of Nepal (NCFN) has urged the cooperatives to extend the support to the country, saying floods, landslides, erosion and inundation triggered by incessant rainfall have caused extensive loss of life and property across the country.

While appreciating the government’s efforts and preparedness for the search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people in the affected areas, the FNCCI is committed to continuous coordination and collaboration with all stakeholders in this task.

The federation has appealed to all cooperatives, thematic central, provincial and district level cooperative federations, National Cooperative Bank and primary cooperatives across the country to actively engage in rescue, relief and rehabilitation works from their respective places.

The federation has urged the cooperatives to help the people affected by the disaster through the cooperative campaign.

Stating that the cooperatives themselves are likely to be affected by the disaster, the concerned thematic central cooperative unions have been requested to collect data of the affected member cooperatives and institutions and coordinate and cooperate with the federations continuously.
