Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has summoned the political parties on October 3 to discuss the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4.

EC commissioner Dr Janaki Kumari Tuladhar said that the EC has written to the political parties representing the dissolved House of Representatives and winning at least one ward member in the last election to come for discussion regarding the preparations for the upcoming election.

The EC has written to Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party among other political parties.

Election Commissioner Dr Tuladhar shared that although the Election Commission has published the election schedule on October 5, it is for the planning of internal works of the EC and decision on election programme would be taken after holding discussion among the political parties.
