Kathmandu. During the protest on September 23, the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak said that he did not order the use of force in his capacity as the Home Minister. On September 7, 17 people were killed in Kathmandu when the Genji generation protested against corruption and social media shutdown.

The then interior minister said he did not order the use of force as home minister at the Genji Generation protests. “Whoever the prime minister is, these are not issues that the home minister can order and no such force has been ordered, no order has been issued by the prime minister or me,” he told reporters at the Congress central office here on Friday.

He said he resigned from his post because he was saddened by the loss of many lives and the burning of government and private structures.
