Jumla. According to the Salt Trading Corporation branch office, there is sufficient salt in the district. Office Chief Nagendra Bahadur Thapa said the depot has around six thousand quintals of salt in stock.
According to the office, 5,500 quintals of salt is available at Khalanga Bazaar, 1,500 quintals at Narakot depot of Singja rural municipality and 1,300 quintals at Guruchaur depot of Kanakasundari rural municipality for the current fiscal year.
“There is no shortage of salt in the district. There is sufficient salt in the district. Around 546 quintals of salt was sold during the Dashain festival. The salt is distributed on the basis of recommendations of all eight local levels of the district. Salt is being distributed as per the demand of the ward. ”
In the past years, the quota used to be around 5,400 quintals per quintal. Office Chief Thapa said that it was difficult to supply salt to the consumers, but with the increase in the quota of salt for the district from this year, salt is being distributed smoothly to the consumers.
The remaining quota of salt is being transported to the district headquarters and all the three depots. Chandanath Municipality, Guthichaur, Patarasi and Tatopani rural municipalities consume the highest amount of salt. It has become easier for the locals after the local levels of the district distributed salt from the ward itself, and the locals are also very happy.
