Simcote. More than 40 passengers who were on their way to Limi of North Namkha Rural Municipality-6 have been stranded. Domestic and foreign tourists who had gone to visit on Monday and Tuesday have been stranded at Tumling of Limi area due to snowfall.
They were returning to Simikot after completing their trek to Limi of Namkha Rural Municipality and were stranded at Tumling after they could not cross the road to Nyalu due to heavy snowfall, said Ujjan Rawat, a local of Tumling. According to Rawat, the road to Nyalu Lake of Limi of Namkha rural municipality-6 has been blocked due to snowfall and the vehicles have been stranded for the past five÷six days.
The work of clearing more than three feet of snow at Nyalu Lake has not made any headway. He said that even though it was sunny on Saturday afternoon, the passengers could not clear the snow. Rawat said that they had to walk for one and a half hours to clear the snow accumulated on the road of Nyalu Lake after the telephone service at Tumling of Limi was not working.
Pawan Rokaya, a local of Tumling, said that the movement of domestic and foreign tourists has been affected due to the closure of the road due to snowfall. Naresh Raj Jaisi, chief of Infrastructure Development Office, said that the work of clearing the snow accumulated on the road of Nyalu Lake would be completed by Monday if it is not today. This road is being looked after by the Infrastructure Development Office.
