Kathmandu. A complaint has been lodged against former Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Devendra Subedi at the Cyber Bureau.

In the complaint, Subedi has been spreading false and unsubstantiated publicity through various social media, claiming that two days before the house of CPN (Maoist Centre) coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was set on fire. The complaint was filed on Sunday on behalf of coordinator Prachanda’s secretariat.

It is said that false content was circulated to create confusion and character assassination. A complaint has been lodged against Subedi at the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police stating that character assassination against the party leadership through social media is a serious cyber crime. The complaint filed by coordinator Prachanda’s secretariat at the bureau on Sunday demanded necessary investigation and legal action against such false publicity made through digital medium as it was against the cyber law.
