Jumla. A delegation led by Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiri Babu Maharj has arrived in Jumla. He was inaugurating the construction of a temple at Chandannath Municipality in Jumla district.
Mayor Maharjan, Chief Administrative Officer Rekha Das Shrestha, KMC Director Dev Prasad Guragain and Ward 28 Chair Birendra Maharjan were present in Jumla.
Maharjan said the metropolis has provided Rs 3.5 million for the construction of Ganesh temple. According to Raju Singh Kathayat, mayor of Chandannath Municipality, the temple has been reconstructed so far. The rest of the money will be spent to build the gate of the temple, he said.
According to KMC, stones for making Ganesh idols were brought from Khokana while Kaligadhs of Lalitpur were used for the construction of the temple. The temple is located in Ward No. 5 of Chandannath Municipality. There are 10 wards in Chandannath Municipality.
Lalitpur Metropolitan City and Chandannath Municipality established sisterly relations 3 years ago. The Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has been implementing various projects to establish partnership for the development of the municipalities where sisterhood has been established.
Mayor Maharjan said that he has supported the construction of the temple considering it his responsibility to support the municipalities having sisterhood relations. He said, “After establishing sisterly relations, we became friends, which means we became friends, it is the duty of one friend to help another.” ’
Stating that friends have the right to share happiness and sorrow among each other, Maharjan said that KMC has been supporting the local governments having sisterhood in heritage and environment-friendly projects.
According to Mayor Maharjan, the metropolis has been giving priority to the construction of structures reflecting the shape of Lalitpur Metropolitan City. Maharjan pledged to support the metropolis in such projects in the coming days as well.
On the occasion, Mayor Kathayat thanked the municipality for its support to the municipality located in remote districts. Likewise, Deputy Mayor Ramdevi Khadka thanked the metropolis and requested for its contribution to such projects in the future.
Similarly, Jumla District Coordination Committee Chairperson Gauri Nanda Acharya thanked the metropolis for its support in the heritage and environment projects by maintaining sisterly relations for the development of the municipality.
Sharada Municipality of Salyan, Bhimeshwor Municipality of Dolakha, Malika Rural Municipality of Gulmi, Chainpur Municipality of Sankhuwabhabha and Gharpajhong Rural Municipality of Mustang are the local municipalities of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
Similarly, the metropolis has sister city relations with Cheorwon city of Korea and Uhlan Ude of Russia at the international level.
