Chief Minister Singh announced his resignation from the rostrum without facing a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly today, the last day of the deadline for seeking a vote of confidence.

Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal announced the postponement of the meeting until further notice, saying there was no need to split the vote of confidence after he announced his resignation at the end of his statement.

While announcing his resignation, Singh made various allegations against his party chairman CK Raut. With the exit of the Chief Minister, the way has now been opened for the formation of the Madhes government
